A Dance4 event
In 2011 Rajni Shah and collaborators first performed Glorious - a haunting and unusual new musical - at Nottdance Festival. Each subsequent performance involved a new set of musicians and local residents - dismantling, reinventing and re-assembling the raw material. Glorious was reimagined in London, Newcastle, Mons (Belgium) and Lancaster. Video artist Becky Edmunds has made a film in response to these performances, and several of the artists will be in attendance for a short informal dialogue following the screening.
"Glorious felt like a place to come to a rest in. A slow building work that crept up on me and managed to transform my state completely by the time it had finished ... Glorious settled down into the stage, and allowed the audience the space and time to come to it of their own will."
