How does it feel? Workshop in Newcastle

As part of the development process for her new performance, Glorious, artist Rajni Shah is looking for ten participants to take part in a free three-day workshop at a Newcastle city centre venue during the early evenings of November 10th, 11th and 12th*, ending with an informal celebratory performance on the last evening.

Participants will work with Rajni and her collaborators to create short simple performances based on autobiographical material, using a combination of voice, text and objects. Workshop participants need not have prior experience in any of these areas; each participant will be able to work with the areas that interest him/her most.

Participants will be broadly responding to the question:
"How does it feel to be alive today?"

This workshop is not for professional artists - enthusiasm and curiosity are all that's required. The workshop will be led by Rajni Shah with costume designer Lucille Acevedo-Jones (lucilleacevedojones.co.uk) and performer Sheila Ghelani (sheilaghelani.co.uk).

The deadline for applications for this workshop has now passed - thanks for your interest.
