Rajni was commissioned by the Farnham Maltings to develop a proposal for a touring theatre production inspired by Tove Jansson’s Sommar Boken (Summerbook). She worked with fellow artists Emily Orley and Katja Hilevaara over six months to create a small publication outlining this unusual production, based on memories of childhood travels around Europe.
Although we usually work as independent artists, our shared love of the careful detail of family relationships coupled with a real sense of place have led us together to create this piece of physical, original installation theatre that tells stories with only a few props and a huge amount of imagination.
